In 2017-18, the Bridge Fellowship program brought two recent Classics PhD graduates, Marco Romani Mistretta (PhD Harvard 2018) and Coleman Connelly (PhD Harvard 2016), to the Paideia Institute. The Bridge Fellowship provided support to them while they worked as team managers at our Summer Humanities Internship in Rome. While there, they jointly supervised a group of undergraduates developing a new version of the Aequora curriculum and performing market research on literacy-teaching products. Among other projects, the Bridge Fellows and the interns produced a ground-breaking study proving the link between Latin and literacy for elementary school children. Upon completion of the Fellowship, both Bridge Fellows were hired by the Paideia Institute.
