The Paideia Institute is seeking a Curriculum Designer to develop materials and organize content for our forthcoming Teacher’s Manual for the Elementa II Textbook. Elementa is an elementary and middle school Latin and literacy program, with textbooks, online content, and teacher resources. The designer will also work to edit and create content for an Ancient Science supplement to our Aequora materials. The Curriculum Designer will collaborate with and report to the Curriculum Manager in their tasks to create content on the Latin language, Roman culture, and Roman history, and prepare it for digital and print publication.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Basic knowledge of Latin, Classics, and Latin pedagogy
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with educational technology and a variety of Learning Management Systems
- Familiarity with issues in the discipline of Classics related to diversity, equity and inclusion and expanding access to Classics to underrepresented groups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with Ancient Science and STEM-Classical connections preferred
This is a remote, part-time, temporary position running from January through July, with the possibility of continuing employment afterwards.
