The Paideia Institute is seeking teachers with a strong background in Latin and Medieval Studies to join the faculty of our Living Latin in Paris winter travel program, from December 27th, 2025 to January 3rd, 2026. Ideal candidates will have previous experience teaching Latin via the active method, specialized academic expertise in medieval history and literature, and familiarity with the city of Paris and the French language.
Instructor responsibilities will include teaching spoken Latin seminars on the course texts, leading site visits in and around Paris (including a day trip outside the city), and, before the program begins, coordinating and attending faculty meetings to plan a curriculum relevant to the course theme.
Living Latin in Paris is designed for adult learners of all ages. The program welcomes beginners who have had the equivalent of one year of college instruction in Latin, as well as more advanced students, including educators and scholars in Classics and related fields. The course schedule combines classroom sessions, thematic site visits, unstructured time for optional enrichment activities, and a few group meals.
