Course Description: Join Prof. Kardan for a close reading of the exciting and tragic second book of the great Roman epic, which contains the most influential ancient account of the fall of Troy.
DETAILS
Level: Intermediate to advanced, intended for students who have mastered Latin grammar and have read some ancient Roman poetry or prose.
Textbook: R.G. Austin's Oxford edition of book 2, with commentary, available in reprints from other publishers. Other commented editions of the first six books are also acceptable.

Recently retired from the classics department of Randolph College, where he taught the full range of Greek, Latin, and classical-civilization courses, Prof. Kardan holds degrees in classics from Swarthmore College and Yale University.
