Homer's Iliad: The Embassy to Achilles
Summer 2026
Course Description
With the Greek forces in dire straits, Agamemnon sends an embassy to Achilles as a desperate ploy to get the slighted hero to return to battle. But will he even listen? In this Greek reading course, we will cover the last brief part of book 8 and the majority of book 9 of the Iliad, for a total of 600 lines. While this is an ongoing Homeric reading group, new participants are always most welcome.
