Teaching Latin for Acquisition: A Crash Course

Course Description

Course Description: In this class participants will spend 10 hours practicing being the student and being the instructor, as well as reading and discussing important articles etc., with a view to getting gentle help with at least the basics and low-hanging fruit of teaching Active Latin via the principles of Comprehensible Input. Everything treated will be with a view to keeping the classroom comprehensible, compelling, and repetitive (in the good sense!). A big theme will be backwards design, or scaffolding up to a text via pre teaching so students can read more fluently.
