Course Description: This is an ongoing course that is reading through the Confessions from beginning to end. This semester we will start at the beginning of Book 7. We feature a slow, detailed reading of the text with ample time for questions about grammar and content as well as lively discussions as ideas and themes emerge from the text.

DETAILS

Level: This course is designed for the advanced and intermediate Latin student. Class discussions are designed to spend as much time with grammatical instruction as needed for the passages under consideration.

Textbook: The instructor provides Latin text with vocabulary aids.

Andy Montgomery is an Associate Professor of Classics at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he teaches Latin and Greek at all levels. He has an interest in Latin literature of the late Republic and Triumviral period, especially Sallust.
