Course Description: In this course, you will learn how to have simple conversations in Latin! Building up on the passive knowledge of the participants, we will, on the one hand, practice conversing in Latin on various topics, on the other hand, improving your listening comprehension and writing skills. The focus will be on activating your passive vocabulary, learning to use synonyms, and repeat and practice rules of grammatical constructions, so that you will be able to use correct Latin – all this we can achieve through various methods such as image descriptions, games, reading and discussing texts from the “Familia Romana” and, most of all, learning from the best, this is: the Roman authors themselves. There will also be room for bettering your pronunciation, especially in terms of correct vowel and syllable length. The methods can be flexible based on the experience and needs of the participants!
