Bede's Historia Ecclesiastica

Bede's Historia Ecclesiastica

Course Description: Bede, known as the Venerable Bede or St. Bede, was an English monk of the 7th-8th century. His Historical Ecclesiastica tell us a great deal about England, the Christian Church, and society in general during his time, which bridges Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages. His Latin is direct and he tells a good story. In this course we will read excerpts from the Historia Ecclesiastica.
