Iter Botanicum Haverfordianum

A Latin Scavenger Hunt at the Haverford Arboretum

Saturday, May 7, 11:30am-1:30pm

High School Students and undergraduates are invited to experience Latin as a living language while exploring the Haverford College Arboretum at the Paideia Institute's Iter Botanicum Haverfordianum. Participants will compete in small teams to complete a Latin scavenger hunt by interacting with Paideia's Latin-speaking staff members. Winners will receive prizes inspired by the ancient world for their Latin classes. The event will also feature a talk by our host and guest speaker Prof. Bret Mulligan of Haverford College.

All students with an interest in Latin and botany are welcome. Latin teachers and professors are encouraged to attend with their students to participate and learn more about active Latin pedagogy.

The event will take place at the Haverford College Arboretum at 370 Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, PA, 19014 and will begin at 11:30am.

This event is free for all participants. Space is limited, however, and participants should register as soon as possible!
