Event Description
Join poet, translator, and beloved teacher, Nick Germanacos, for a reading and seminar discussion of selected poems from, Ora et Labora, a new collection of English poetry published by the Paideia Institute Press in 2019. In the author's words, "The poems are the distillation of a lifetime of moving from country to country, home to home, language to language; of teaching, reading, writing, translating, and farming the intractable earth of Crete. They are in the dramatic and narrative modes, philosophical, historical, satirical, elegiac. The Collection includes poems on love, loss, and death. They are my offering at the altar of the Unknown God on the Acropolis of Athens."
Light refreshments will be served.
