Plautus: Aulularia, or The Pot of Gold

Course Description: This is a reading course of Plautus’ “Aulularia,” or “The Pot of Gold,” which follows the shenanigans of the poor, miserly Euclio and his household as Euclio jealously guards his secret treasure (the eponymous pot!) amidst last-ditch wedding preparations for Euclio’s very pregnant, young, beautiful daughter Phaedria and Euclio’s very rich and very old neighbor Megadorus — whose nephew Lyconides got Phaedria pregnant!
