Latin School of Chicago
Thursday, December 1, 2016, 6:00-8:00 pm
Latin teachers, students, and enthusiasts are invited to attend the book party for Fr. Reginald Foster's recent publication, Ossa Latinitatis Sola Ad Mentem Reginaldi Rationemque, co-hosted by The Paideia Institute and the Latin School of Chicago.
Fr. Reginald Foster is an American Catholic priest and friar of the Order of Discalced Carmelites, as well as the former Papal Latinist at the Vatican (1969-2009). He taught generations of Latin students to love the Latin language and the city of Rome. Paideia's goal at its foundation was to continue the tradition of Fr. Foster's beloved course.
Ossa Latinitatis Sola, co-written by Daniel Patricius McCarthy, aims to bring people into "immediate contact with and understanding of Latin authors, and for these encounters to grow into a love and use of the entire language in all its literary types and periods of time and authors of the past 2,000 years."
There will be refreshments as well as an informal, short talk from Fr. Foster. The event will take place at the Latin School of Chicago, located at 59 West North Boulevard, Chicago, and run from approximately 6pm to 8pm. Please R.S.V.P. using the link below.
