Course Description: After Nolan's epic movie, let's simply read the Odyssey in translation. We'll read two books a week, and discuss questions I'll circulate in advance. We'll spend the last quarter of class discussing how Nolan has changed, adapted or reworked the relevant books. At the end of the class you should have a good background knowledge of the text, and why there is so much current interest in it. A companion course, if there is interest, will look at small sections of each book in Greek.
