Event Description
Join us next week for an in-person Vespers performance in Latin of Magnificat octavi toni (Charles Villiers Stanford, 1852-1924) and Veritas mea (George Malcolm, 1917-1997), presented by New York City's School of Sacred Music at St. George's Chapel. The performance will be followed by a lecture with Prof. Matthew McGowan (Fordham University) on the role that the Magnificat, from the Gospel of Luke, and the Veritas mea, from Psalms, have played in the history of Catholic choral music and the tradition of Vespers.
