Anna Conser (PhD Columbia 2021) is an Assistant Professor of Classics at the University of Cincinnati.  Her research focusses on ancient music and performance, Greek drama and lyric poetry, and the digital processing of ancient texts.  As part of her current project, she has developed software tools to study the melodic patterning of pitch accents in Greek choral lyric, creating a new body of evidence that can be interpreted using approaches borrowed from opera and musical theater. 

Dr. Conser's work on performance draws on her extensive experience with modern productions of ancient plays, including Sophocles’ Women of Trachis (director/choreographer), Aeschylus’ Libation Bearers (co-director), and Euripides’ Heracles (vocal composer).  She first started teaching at Living Greek in Greece in summer 2014, and is delighted to be back as Head again this summer.

James works at the Center for Reducing Suffering, which researches how to avoid the worst possible sources of suffering that could occur in the future. He has previously interned at Animal Charity Evaluators and Wild Animal Initiative. He graduated from Haverford College with a B.A. in Linguistics and a minor in Classical Languages in 2018. James has fond memories of Paideia's Living Latin in Rome and Living Greek in Greece, as well as several other spoken Latin and Greek programs. His other research interests in Classics include Plutarch's writings on animals and cash distributions in classical Athens.

After a decade of service to Benedict XVI and Francis as a papal Latinist, Daniel Gallagher was named the Ralph and Jeanne Kanders Professor of the Practice in Latin at Cornell University. He holds degrees from the University of Michigan, the Catholic University of America, and the Pontifical Gregorian University, and has published extensively in medieval philosophy, especially in the areas of metaphysics and aesthetics. He is passionate about handing on the Latin language based on the principles and method of his long-time mentor, Fr. Reginald Foster. Professor Gallagher currently lives with his family in Savannah, where he teaches literature and philosophy at Ralston College.

Jenni Glaser is a 3rd year graduate student in the department of Greek, Latin and Classical studies at Bryn Mawr College. She received her MA in Classical Philology from Fordham University, and is currently working on emotion in Seneca’s tragedies. Her interests include Greek and Roman drama, metaphors of emotion, and reception. She has taught Greek and Latin at the Polis Institute and currently teaches for the Veterum Sapientia Institute.

Dr. Nancy Llewellyn is a California native who has studied the Latin language and Latin literature of all periods for over twenty years. After earning her bachelor’s degree at Bryn Mawr, she studied with noted Vatican Latinist Fr. Reginald Foster for three years in Rome. She earned her Licenza in Christian and Classical Letters at the Pontifical Salesian University under the direction of Fr. Cletus Pavanetto, President of the Vatican’s Latinitas Foundation. During her graduate studies at UCLA, she was awarded the prestigious Luckman Fellowship for Distinguished Teaching. In 1997 she created SALVI, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to promoting the speaking of Latin, under whose aegis she conducts annual spoken-Latin workshops that attract teachers and students from around the country. She teaches at Wyoming Catholic College, whose Latin program she initiated at the College's founding in 2007. Before her Wyoming appointment, she taught at Loyola Marymount University in Southern California and served as Project Coordinator of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Latina initiative at the University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities. Dr. Llewellyn’s interests include language pedagogy, Neo-Latin literature, paleography, and archaeology.

Matthew McGowan is Associate Professor & Chair of Classics at Fordham University and alumnus of Reginald Foster's Fifth Experience (Rome 1998-99). From 2009-2015 he served as President of the NY Classical Club and is currently the Vice-President for Communication and Outreach for the Society of Classical Studies. His scholarly interests range broadly over Greek and Latin literature and the classical tradition. His first book, Ovid in Exile: Power and Poetic Redress in the Tristia and Epistulae ex Ponto, appeared in 2009 with Brill, and he has just completed an edited volume, Classical New York: Greece & Rome in NY's Art and Architecture, for Fordham University Press. He is currently at work on a Guide to the Greek and Latin Inscriptions of New York City alongside a survey of ancient lexicography, Dictionaries in Ancient Rome: The Art of Defining Latin Words, 200 BC--800 AD. He teaches a wide array of courses, from classical myth to Latin prose composition, and is delighted to be working with Paideia and its wonderful students and staff!

Originally from a rural village in Malawi, Chikondi is an alumnus of the Accademia Vivarium Novum. While in Rome, he attended undergraduate courses at the Università Pontificia Salesiana, where he graduated from in June, 2016, defending his dissertation entitled "Senecae Locus In Philosophia Stoica: De Hominis Libertate Fato Universa Regente." In 2019, he obtained his masters in classics at the University of Kentucky. His interests include Seneca's Stoicism, Lucian, Erasmus and the Renaissance Humanist education movement.

Milena Minkova is Professor of Classics at the University of Kentucky. She has published on Latin literature in its continuity, 12^th century Renaissance, Latin Composition, Latin Pedagogy, and Active Latin. Together with Terence Tunberg, Minkova has co-authored the introductory Latin series “Latin for the New Millennium.” Both Minkova and Tunberg moderate the Institute for Latin Studies, a Graduate Certificate Curriculum associated with the M.A. Program in Classics at the University of Kentucky, in which Latin is taught in its continuity from ancient until modern times and in the target language (since 2020 the Certificate is being offered online as well). Minkova’a most recent volume is a critical anthology of Neo-Latin Florilegium recentioris Latinitatis (Leuven University Press, 2018). 

Alex Petkas is a former Classics scholar turned media entrepreneur.  He holds a PhD in Classics from Princeton University.  He taught at the University of California, San Diego, and California State University, Fresno. He has published research on many subjects, including classical Athenian oratory, late ancient rhetoric and education, and epistle writing.  His research on the ancient media technologies of writing (especially letters) led him to take an active interest in the Classics in modern New Media.  His years of experience teaching at Paideia’s Living Greek in Greece program led him to a particular interest in the oral nature of classical texts.  His day job is in marketing.

Linguist Christophe Rico has a doctorate in ancient Greek and holds the French official accreditation to direct PhD research. Member of the Faculty of the University of Strasbourg, he is Professor of Greek Philology at the Ecole Biblique of Jerusalem. Since 2011, he is the Dean of the Polis Institute at Jerusalem where ancient languages (Greek, Latin, biblical Hebrew, Syriac, Coptic, classical Arabic) are taught through full immersion as living languages according to the “Polis method”. 

Marco Ricucci is teacher of Latin and Italian language and literature at the high school "Liceo Scientifico Leonardo da Vinci" in Milan, Italy. He obtained his PhD in "Sciences of Antiquity" at the University of Udine under the supervision of Professor Renato Oniga, defending a thesis on the subject of learning Classical Languages in the perspective of Second Language Acquisition. He has been Adjunct Professor of "Didattica del Latino" at the University of Padua and lecturer in workshops of Academic Italian writing and Latin Language and Literature at the University of Milan. He is actually working on the pedagogical development of a new comparative method for the teaching of Latin, has published many contributions on this topic, and trained teachers working at schools.

Jenny studied German and Slavic philology in Greifswald, European Cultural History in Frankfurt/Oder, and Classics at Humboldt University Berlin. She has been working as a Latin and Ancient Greek instructor for the Paideia Institute since 2019 and as a Curriculum Designer since 2022. Jenny is co-founder of the language school Τρίοδος Trivium and runs a popular Ancient Greek YouTube channel under the same name.

Rogelio has a BA in Classics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and an MA in Classics from the Freie Universität Berlin. His Ph.D. research will be on the Greek translations of Maximos Planudes of Boethius’ Consolation of Philosophy, but he still does not know where. His interests include Linguistics, Philosophy of Language, Philosophy, and Language Teaching. He has taught Ancient Greek as a living language during summer or winter courses at the National Autonomous University of Mexico; at Ouranos in Madrid, Spain; at Polis Institute both in Rome and in Jerusalem; and at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. He is co-founder of Triodos-Trivium and is currently coordinator of the Greek and Latin department at Polis, the Jerusalem Institute of Languages and Humanities. 

Terence Tunberg completed his doctoral studies in the Department of Classics and the Pontifical Institute for Mediaeval Studies at the University of Toronto in 1986. He began to devote himself to spoken Latin as a graduate student and has since then regularly taken part in seminars for spoken Latin in Europe and North America. In 1998 he was elected fellow of the Academia Latinitati Fovendae, the Rome-based international organization for maintaining the use of Latin. He has moderated the Conventiculum Latinum Lexintoniense, an annual immersion seminar in spoken Latin, for nearly two decades. Together with Milena Minkova he teaches in the Institutum Studiis Latinis Provehendis at the University of Kentucky, a two-year post-graduate curriculum in which Latin literature and Latin composition are taught entirely in Latin. He has published extensively on prose style in classical and Neo-Latin, and has won international prizes for Latin composition. Together with Milena Minkova he has written a manual of Latin prose composition.

David J. White is a Senior Lecturer in Classics at Baylor University, where he teaches Latin and other Classics courses. He has degrees from the University of Florida, Penn, Kent State, and the University of Akron. He works on Columella and other Golden and Silver Age Latin writers. He is active in the living Latin community and from 2018-2022 was the Latin Orator for the Classical Association of the MIddle West and South. He has delivered several papers in Latin at Paideia's Living Latin in NYC and taught for Telepaideia since 2020.
